    The Role: Underwriter (E&S/FiRMS)

    Location: Honolulu, HI

    Personiv is recruiting on behalf of First Insurance Company of Hawaii, or FICOH, the oldest and largest property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Hawaii. Owned by global insurance leader, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., with over $640 million in assets.

    Responsibilities

    • Process, validate, and underwrite renewals
    • Rate, quote, and issue renewal policies
    • Back up underwriter for JUP

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • 4 year college degree or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of related work experience
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with external customers
    • Ability to work independently and within a team
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
    • Excess & Surplus (E&S) underwriting fundamentals from processes and systems
    • Issue invoices for E&S policies and respond to accounting questions
    • Working knowledge of Vision and Ice systems

     

    Additional Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Applied Vision software
    • Hawaii Producers license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

     

    Special Circumstances: 

    • May require occasional overtime
    • May require occasional travel to neighbor islands
