    The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is recruiting for a Manager, Information Systems Database.

    Responsibilities

    The core functions of this position include coordination of testing and training related to the AMS upgrade project, database cleanup and maintenance, AMS staff trainer and documenter of processes, helpdesk point of contact for CASE staff and liaison with AMS vendor to resolve issues.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    The core functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

     

    Program/Project Management

    • Manage the user acceptance testing and training process as part of the AMS upgrade project. Provide clear communication and directions to CASE staff responsible for testing upgraded database features and collect and organize staff feedback.
    • Document system configuration changes and keep up to-date information regarding system updates, customizations and script deployment.
    • Maintain advanced knowledge of system modules, features and functionality.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    AMS Database Integrity Functions

    • Work closely with the Database Administrator on data clean-up projects as assigned. This includes modifying orders and editing records to reflect standards for entry, and other data corrections as agreed upon by the Data Management Committee, etc.
    • Create and/or run regular integrity reports to help identify areas of non-conformance to standards.
    • Liaise with the AMS vendor as needed to resolve system issues, organize and execute bulk updates, addition of fields, new configurations, etc.
    • Manage onboarding/offboarding process of CASE staff as it pertains to AMS accounts 
    • Serve as backup point of contact for database administration

    Training and Helpdesk Functions

    • Manage AMS system onboarding training for new staff and advanced level trainings for experienced staff to enhance utilization of the system and reinforce standard operating procedures and best practices in all areas of the database.
    • Coordinate and assist with updating, creating and disseminating “how to” videos and guides for staff and customers, as needed.
    • Work with all divisions to develop documentation of current business processes and workflows for the AMS, recommend process improvements, and update procedures.
    • Provide first level of support (troubleshooting and simulation) to resolve AMS issues for staff and/or facilitate escalation of the issues with the vendor, as needed, including ticket tracking.
    • Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
    • Exercise fiscal responsibility in the utilization of all CASE resources.

    Liaison Responsibilities

    Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

    Qualifications

    Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in an IT, technical, analytical or related role. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with their database software/web applications is required.

     

    Skills and AbilitiesMust exhibit superior customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of customers. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database programs required. Personify experience preferred. Ability to work independently and in a team to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
